This tutorial will use DNSCrypt-Proxy and tiarap.org<\/code><\/a>\u00a0(Indonesian focused ad-and-malware-blocker integration) as DNS resolver on MacOS Catalina 10.15.5<\/p>\n

Step 1<\/strong> – Install DNSCrypt-Proxy<\/p>\n

brew install dnscrypt-proxy<\/pre>\n

Step 2<\/strong> – Download configuration from https:\/\/github.com\/pengelana\/blocklist\/tree\/master\/dnscrypt-proxy\/v2<\/a><\/p>\n
wget https:\/\/raw.githubusercontent.com\/pengelana\/blocklist\/master\/dnscrypt-proxy\/v2\/dnscrypt-proxy.toml -P ~\/Downloads<\/pre>\n
Step 3<\/strong> – Move the configuration to the default setting location<\/p>\n
mv \/usr\/local\/etc\/dnscrypt-proxy.toml \/usr\/local\/etc\/dnscrypt-proxy-old.toml\r\nmv Downloads\/dnscrypt-proxy.toml \/usr\/local\/etc\/<\/pre>\n

Step 4<\/strong> – Run the dnscrypt-proxy with the new config<\/p>\n
sudo dnscrypt-proxy -config \/usr\/local\/etc\/dnscrypt-proxy.toml<\/pre>\n

Step 5<\/strong> – Without closing the window on step 4, open new tab \/ terminal test resolve any DNS you like<\/p>\n
 dnscrypt-proxy -resolve example.com<\/pre>\n

Step 6<\/strong> – If until Step 5 you have no issue whatsoever you can then setup as service and it will run whenever computer start up<\/p>\n
sudo brew services start dnscrypt-proxy<\/pre>\n

Step 7<\/strong> – Change your network preferences DNS to 127.0.0.1<\/p>\n
